NEW YEAR – NEW GOOD NEWS. ABOUT AN IMPORTANT QUOTE, A NOVEL BY JOANNA ERBEL, AND WHATPLANS THE FOUNDATION HAS IN 2024.
05.01.2024

Do you know how the term “neurodiversity” came about? It was coined by Judy Singer, author of the iconic chapter “Why Can’t You Be Normal for Once in Your Life?”, about whom Steve Silberman said:

“Few people can claim to have coined a term that changed the world for the better. Judy Singer can.”

In 2024, we are continuing our ongoing work on the visibility of neurominorities and neuroinclusivity. But in a slightly different way, because of an even broader dimension! All this to bring closer the reality of tomorrow – an empathetic, creative reality in which everyone will find their place.

What are your New Year’s resolutions?

Or do you plan no changes, but only to continue working on the good things achieved in the previous months?
If you feel like starting 2024 in the spirit of neurodiversity and reflecting on the (perhaps near) future – we are coming with a plan for this Monday.

We are proud to invite you to an author meeting with Joanna Erbel, our fantastic contributor and also one of the most ambitious social activists for neuroculture (and beyond) in Poland.

Meet her latest book, “How Henry Gained Power.”
It’s a first-of-its-kind protopic novel about what the reality of neurodivergent people might look like in the world of tomorrow – shrouded by digitization and the rule of artificial intelligence, which dominates many social roles. This is an engaging yet reflective story that speaks about participation, transhumanism, and the clash between human emotionality and cool computer calculation.

Interested? We’ll see you in Warsaw:
> January 8 at 19:00
> in the foyer of Nowy Teatr / 10 Antoniego J. Madalińskiego St. in Mokotów.

The event will be hosted by Bogna Świątkowska – founder and president of the Bęc Zmiana Foundation, initiator and Editor-in-Chief of “Notes for 6 Weeks”, and, among other things, an activist for the inclusiveness of public space.

Are you curious about this conversation?

We can’t wait and are looking forward to seeing you!

Taking the opportunity, which is undoubtedly the beginning of January – we wish you in the New Year all that is good, enriching and positively surprising. Health, endless curiosity and many pleasant experiences every day!
